Des Wilson built his career transforming network and security technology companies into market leaders. He joined Ryft to help orchestrate and accelerate the company’s transformation and growth. Prior to Ryft, Des was CEO of BreakingPoint Systems, a high-performance application and security testing product manufacturer acquired by Ixia Communications (Nasdaq: XXIA). Before joining BreakingPoint, Wilson served as CEO at Axel Johnson, a $3 billion privately owned corporation with interests in the technology, energy and environmental sectors.

Des also spent more than a decade at Hekimian Laboratories, where he played a major role in transforming the company from a small telecom equipment provider to one of North America’s leading suppliers of network management systems. After Spirent Communications acquired Hekimian, Des joined the global communications technology leader in an executive leadership position.

During a 25-year career in operations management, Kathy Wakeman has specialized in building corporate value, with a focus on re-engineering processes to enhance performance and productivity and manage growth, change and risk. Kathy manages day-to-day business activities, shepherding Ryft’s transformation from a government services company to a successful product company.

Before Ryft, Kathy co-founded and served as President of RavenWing, a situational awareness mobile application firm serving the intelligence and defense sectors. Under her leadership, RavenWing grew to more than 70 people and was acquired by The Boeing Company less than 5 years post-launch. Kathy’s other career highlights include operating a successful management consulting practice with customers in the commercial, GSE, and not-for-profit sectors. She also served as vice president of Merex, a government services contracting firm, contributing to 5X corporate growth during her tenure with that organization. Kathy holds degrees from the University of California and California State University.

Following a 30-year career focused on developing and delivering carrier-class service assurance solutions, Bill Dentinger joined Ryft, where he works with the product team to shape the direction of Ryft products and technologies. Bill joined Ryft from Spirent Communications, where he held various leadership roles in product strategy, management and marketing. During his time at Spirent, Bill was responsible for delivering strategy, process and technology solutions to enable service provider clients to optimize their service delivery and troubleshooting business practices, as well as solutions to monitor service providers’ high-speed networks for enterprise customers and cloud data centers.

Bill’s career includes more than 13 years of developing telecom solutions used by some of the largest service providers in the world, as well as 17 years in solution consulting for wireline and wireless operational centers in the U.S. and in international service provider, federal and enterprise markets. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Maryland.

Pat McGarry brings extensive technology and leadership experience in hardware and software engineering to his role as Vice President of Engineering at Ryft. He joins Ryft from Ixia Communications, where he was responsible for the company’s federal security systems engineering programs. During his tenure at Ixia and BreakingPoint Systems, Pat spent several years working in the cyber security industry within the DoD and the intelligence communities conducting experimentation and analysis of cyber-related performance and security concerns on arbitrary network infrastructures.

Prior to BreakingPoint, Pat held leadership roles in product and engineering management. This included hardware and software design in the realm of embedded systems, network systems, and cyber security while working at Spirent and Hekimian Laboratories. He earned bachelor’s degrees in computer science and electrical engineering from Virginia Tech.

Leveraging over 30 years of strategic technology sales and marketing experience, Patrick McCarthy joins Ryft as the Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing where he is responsible for scaling and driving Ryft’s efforts to gain market share within enterprises, service providers and government organizations. Patrick comes to Ryft from Cisco Systems, where he served as Cisco’s Senior Operations Director for New Business Models and Revenue Streams. At Cisco, Patrick held a variety of leadership positions focused on growing and leading sales and marketing organizations to deliver positive business outcomes to today’s largest, global organizations.

Over the past 20+ years, Patrick played a significant part in helping to make Cisco a leader in IT, networking and analytics solutions that transformed how businesses connect, communicate and collaborate. Both at work and in his community, Patrick is passionate about paying it forward and has spent countless hours mentoring, feeding needy families, restoring parks, updating school classrooms, building homes and volunteering at no-kill pet shelters.
