Ryft unveiled Ryft ONE this week, a commercial-grade 1U platform capable of analyzing up to 48 terabytes of data at 10 gigabytes per second or faster, the company claims.

It’s a remarkable achievement and a marked step away from conventional computing. It remains to be seen whether companies are ready to ditch their legacy infrastructures in the name of big data yet.

But Ryft’s timing may also prove to be serendipitous. After all, a new Capgemini report found that “54 percent of surveyed companies say that investment in big data over the next three years will outstrip past investment.”
